I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited to share a blog post! When I found out I was pregnant in April, the first thing I started thinking about was how I wanted to do the nursery. We knew we wouldn’t be finding out the gender so we needed something neutral, but I didn’t want to go with something that had already been done hundreds of times. We had decided on which room it would be when we bought our house and it had been empty ever since. (We picked this room because I loved the idea of having French doors in the nursery.) My mom and I went on a trip to Austin, Texas and while we were there we visited Magnolia Market (By Chip and Jo Gaines of HGTV). While we were shopping that day the idea just kinda clicked in my head. I saw a watercolor painting of a baby chick and thought, “I can do a farm fresh theme!” I had bought the cow hide rug over a year ago and hadn’t decided where I was going to use it, so I was stoked when I thought I could use it in the nursery. From there, the farm fresh theme just kinda took off!
Jordan built the awesome shelves hanging on the wall as well as the closet rack and shelf; I scored on marrying a handy man! He also built the little changing pad cover. I had decided I didn’t want one of the bulky pads up on the dresser so instead I bought a bassinet mattress and J built the holder custom to it’s size because we couldn’t find anything to fit it ANYWHERE! I’m happy about that though because it turned out perfectly. We went with a navy blue crib because we want to be able to use it for all of our kiddos and navy can be for a boy or girl!
The room came together even better than I had hoped. I can’t wait for the countless hours we will spend teaching, rocking, and playing with our baby in the nursery!
