On Friday my momma and I went to a little piece of heaven called The Barn Antiques. We’ve been a few times and we just adore it. It’s a family owned and operated business in Lake Alfred, Fl. The owners travel to England every six weeks to stock up on awesome pieces of antique furniture to bring back and sell. They have to go that often because of how popular the antiques are… I mean, wouldn’t that be the life? Going to England every six weeks? haha
I was there trying to get some inspiration ideas for decorating my home. They have this whole room full of stained glass windows. They’re all so unique; I’m obsessed. I love how they displayed the one window hanging from the ceiling. I used a window for my wedding to display our menu and now I have some great ideas of how to use it in my home.
I’ve been looking for accent and coffee tables to put around my home, and one of my favorite looks right now is reclaimed wood with industrial metal as a base. I thought it was a super-modern look so I was surprised when I saw this table there as an antique. I loooove it and thought it was a great piece. Looking throughout the barn I got some really cool Ideas how to work both modern and classic styles into my home.
They other day I was telling my momma how much I love succulents… SO I was stoked to see a succulent section there. I’m still trying to figure out where I’ll be adding them into our home, but I know I will somewhere!
“The Stable” is where they sell modern day home decor. They have some of the cutest things in there, as well as clothes and jewelry… it’s like a really large boutique. I got an a lovely piece of furniture from there that I’ll show in a later post that will be displayed in my family room. I adooooore it.
My mom has been in the process of turning her back lanai into a nautical themed piece of paradise, so when I saw this anchor hanger I was so excited. I love the be beachy feel it has….especially living here in Florida.
My favorite part about visiting The Barn is The Back Porch Restaurant. You have a wide range of options from soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. The portion sizes are small so you can try a little of everything. Their potato salad is some of the best I’ve ever had, seriously! They serve it all in a little picnic basket… it’s the cutest.
The antique part of The Barn closes at the end of May for the summer, however the Back Porch Restaurant and
The Stable stay open year round! If any of y’all end up visiting let me know and tell me how you liked it!
